Inspiration
Before I educated myself formally about famous artists, my father was my art inspiration. He was a very talented watercolor artist and I spent hours watching him paint. I didn’t really consider myself an artist until I was in my 30’s and had time to pursue art full-time. In addition to my father, I find myself inspired by Claude Monet, Leonid Afremov, and Vincent Van Gogh.
Techniques
I consider my painting to be impressionistic in nature. I prefer to paint with a palette knife and often use a "chunky" style, but I do also paint with brushes occasionally. I enjoy continuing to learn new techniques and study with other master artists.
I enjoy both black and white and color photography. I concentrate mostly on nature settings with some of my photography leaning toward the abstract.
